 | -First Command Educational Foundation
Celebrating 25 years of operation in 2008, First Command Educational
Foundation (FCEF) has a two-fold mission: financial literacy and the distribution of scholarships. FCEF
serves a national audience with programs on developing a spending plan, the
wise use of credit, retirement planning, bankruptcy prevention, how to find
funding for college, identity theft prevention, and approximately 30
additional topics. To date, FCEF has presented financial literacy
presentations and seminars for some 45,000 participants.
FCEF has also awarded more than $3.5 million in
scholarships to undergraduate students based on need and/or scholastic
achievement. While the minimum scholarship is $3,000, FCEF has awarded a
single scholarship of $25,000. For 2008, FCEF has committed $60,000 in
awards (out of $200,000) to scholars who live and work in the Fort Worth
communities.
Presentations are given by a corps of certified
volunteer speakers and the FCEF staff. FCEF programs and services are
offered at little or no charge. A selection of topics can be found on our
website along with a presentation request form.
